Citizenship
To become a Canadian citizen, most applicants must

be a permanent resident

have lived in Canada for at least 3 out of the last 5 years (1,095 days)
Applicants can count each day they were physically present in Canada as a temporary resident (Student or worker) or protected person before becoming a permanent resident as a half-day toward meeting the physical presence requirement for citizenship, up to a maximum credit of 365 days.

have filed your taxes, if you need to

pass a citizenship test

applicants between 18 to 54 years of age must prove your language skills in English or French
