Work Visa

There are two main categories under work visa


Post Graduate Work Permit


You may be eligible to apply for post graduate work permit if you have graduated from eligible Designated learning institution in Canada.


The experience gained on Post graduate work permit in NOC O, A, B qualifies for Canadian Experience Class.


To be eligible for Post graduate work permit international students must:

  • you have completed an academic, vocational or professional training program at an eligible institution in Canada that is at least 8 months in duration leading to a degree, diploma or certificate.

  • you have maintained full-time student status in Canada during each academic session of the program or programs of study they have completed and submitted as part of their post-graduation work permit application. 

  • you have received a transcript and an official letter from the eligible DLI confirming that they have met the requirements to complete their program of study.

  • you must hold a valid study permit when you apply for work permit.

Spousal Work Permit


To be eligible for spousal open work permit, the spouse or common law partner of the applicant must be:

  • a spouse of a foreign student at a public post-secondary school, such as a college or university.

  • a spouse of a skilled worker in an occupation under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill type 0, A or B approved to work in Canada six months or longer
